Parlour collects your phone number for authentication, reading preferences (theme, language), bookshelf data, personal notes, and AI conversation history. Book metadata is cached from Rakuten Kobo.
Your data is used to provide the reading and AI conversation experience, enforce subscription limits, improve safety through content reporting, and send optional reading reminders on mobile devices.
Messages sent to AI personas are processed by third-party AI providers to generate responses. We store conversation history in your account. You may report AI responses; reported content is hidden from your view and flagged for review.
Data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security. Each user can only access their own data. Book metadata is shared read-only across users to reduce API calls.
We use Supabase (auth & database), third-party AI providers, Rakuten Kobo API, and Apple/Google in-app purchase systems. Each service has its own privacy policy.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your profile, bookshelf, notes, chats, and all associated data via a cascading delete.
Parlour is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
